Francisco Gil

Founder of Donantes de Rumba dance company, was born in Tenerife in 1981. During 17 years he has been practicing the martial arts and he got to know salsa in 2002. Two years later he started to dance on the stage and work on his own choreographies. Step by step he began to open the door to the dance which used to be only a hobby and became addicted to salsa. He started to learn Cuban salsa, then cross body lead style (Los Angeles salsa) and finally New York style “on 2” which is now his favorite. At the same time he has learned other Latin dances like merengue, bachata, kizomba, tango a cha cha chá.

His mayor successes in his artistic carreer are regional and national congresses (Cádiz, Castellon, Madrid...), workshops and courses in different Canary Islands (Gran Canaria, La Palma , Tenerife..) organization of his own event Salsaforum 2006 in Tenerife. He also participated in different competitions and danced in different programs in the regional TV.

Competitions and championships
2nd place at Salsaopen – Canary Islands 2005, champion of Salsa Brugal Tenerife and 2nd place at Salsa Brugal Canary Islands in 2005. Besides this he also shared the stage with big salsa artists like Gran Combo, Las Estrellas del la Dimensión Latina , Adolescentes y Oscar de León.
Recently he moved to Prague where he gives classes and presentes his new choreographies with his partner Veronika.

Veronika

Born in Prague in 1985, dancer and instructor with international experience. Veronika started to dance on the stage when she was 5 years old with different schools of dancing and singing. With theese schools she has also visited various places in Europe. During her studies of tourism she used to dedicate her freetime to train and compete in aerobics. Her first salsa steps she has learned in the USA at Songs of Hope an international program of singing and dancing. Her passion for dancing got stronger so she looked for the classes in Prague, where she got to know different styles of salsa - on 1, on 2, Salsa Cubana and casino rueda. As the time passed she participated in different dance companies nationals and internationals (mentioned below). In 2003/04 she cooperated with various international artists with whoose she extanded her knowledges of salsa, cuban rumba and other Caribbean rythms. With these artists she has also danced choreographies and gave worshops in congresses in different countries in Europe, USA and mostly in Spain.

Her favourite salsa style is New york on 2 which DDR uses in their coreographies, but at the dancefloor she'll enjoy every kind of dance or style. Her motto is: "No matter what kind of style you dance, if you enjoy it 100%!"
