Born and raised in Havana, Javier comes from the heart of Cuban music and dance culture. Before moving to the UK, he was active at the Castillito Cultural Centre and deeply involved in Cuba’s musical scene - the kind of background you hear immediately once the music starts.
Since arriving in the UK, he has been behind the decks nonstop, delivering Cuban salsa and timba with confidence and instinct, adjusting the energy to the moment and the crowd. His experience also includes supporting some of Cuba’s most influential artists in concert across the UK and France, including Los Van Van, Maykel Blanco, Elito Revé, Sierra Maestra, and many more.
DJ Javier doesn’t play Cuban music about Cuba - he plays it from Cuba. Expect nights driven by rhythm, clave, and real connection to the roots.
