Whether you want to reconnect with Afro-Cuban roots or you’re a hardcore mambo dancer, listening to the music is what truly matters. And there’s no better way to train your ear, feel accents and understand rhythm than dancing directly to live percussion.
That’s why, at the 22nd edition of our festival, selected workshops will once again be accompanied by live Cuban musicians. Our musicians don’t just play the music - they interact with dancers, challenge their timing, and help them hear details they’ve been missing on the dance floor.
Born in Cuba, Jose Molina has been surrounded by music from an early age. He began studying musical direction at the age of seven, first through piano, and later specializing in percussion. A trained percussion teacher and certified music therapist, he regularly gives percussion classes and takes part in various musical and dance events.
